Criminal Justice Review Committee

Summary

The board will prepare a report that will assist the Grand Jury in making a presentment that suggest specific changes to the criminal justice system.  The presentment would be based on a report compiled from the City Comparison and include the feedback obtained from the Community Survey.  The presentment should include suggestions for changes for:

• Juvenile System
• Bonds
• Sentencing
• Parole

Prepare for Presentment

The board will determine what additional information, not obtained previously is needed to complete the report. 

Present Finding to Criminal Justice Departments

In addition to the presentment, the board will prepare presentations for all of the effected Criminal Justice departments based on their findings.  For example if there are specific suggestions for changes to parole the board will meet with the parole board, the legislature and any other department that can help implement the suggestions of the board.
